By accessing or using Spanish Stories, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the website.

2. Description of the website

Spanish Stories is a reading site for people learning Spanish. It currently provides, free of charge:

• Original Spanish-language stories organized by CEFR level (A1 through C2)
• Contextual meanings for selected vocabulary and phrases within each story
• Paragraph-by-paragraph English translation on stories where it is enabled
• Full English translations of stories
• Comprehension questions on some stories
• Audio narration on some stories
• A short, informal placement quiz to help you find an appropriate starting level
• On-site search of the story library
• A contact form for questions, feedback, and bug reports

The website also includes, or is in the process of adding, a dedicated Spanish Stories for Kids collection of short, family-friendly stories aimed primarily at A1–A2 learners. See Children's Content below.

No account or sign-up is required to read stories or use these tools.

3. Children's content

Spanish Stories includes, and is expanding, family-friendly reading content, including a dedicated Spanish Stories for Kids collection intended to give children another way to practice reading Spanish. This content is educational reading material, not a certified curriculum.

• Reading stories on this website, including the Kids collection, does not require creating an account or providing any personal information.
• Parents, guardians, and educators are responsible for deciding whether a particular story is appropriate for a particular child. We do not represent that every story on the website is suitable for every age.
• If a child uses the contact form, we ask that a parent or guardian supervise or send the message on their behalf rather than the child submitting personal information directly.

4. Intellectual property

The stories, translations, audio, comprehension questions, written content, graphics, website design, and underlying code on this website are original to Spanish Stories unless otherwise noted, and are protected by applicable copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You're welcome to read, use, and reference this content for personal and educational purposes, including in a classroom setting. You may not reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell, or otherwise commercially exploit this content, and you may not scrape the website at abusive scale, without our permission, except where applicable law permits it.

5. Acceptable use

When using this website, you agree not to:

• Use the website for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the website's normal operation
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website or its systems
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the website's content in an abusive or automated way
• Redistribute or republish copyrighted content from the website without permission
• Attempt to circumvent any technical restrictions on the website

6. External services

The website relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:

• Web3Forms processes submissions from the contact form and forwards them to us by email.
• Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website and provides content-delivery and security infrastructure.

7. Availability

We aim to keep Spanish Stories available and working well, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The website may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or outages of the third-party services it depends on.

8. Educational disclaimer

Spanish Stories is a learning resource. CEFR levels, the placement quiz, and comprehension questions are informal aids meant to help you find and practice with appropriate material: they are not an official assessment, certification, or guarantee of any particular learning outcome, fluency level, or exam result.

9. Paid products

Spanish Stories offers one paid product, the A1 Spanish Reader ebook, sold and delivered through Payhip, a third-party payment processor. All other content and tools described in these terms remain free to use. Payhip's own terms govern the checkout and payment process; see their site for details.

10. Donations

The website does not currently accept donations. If donation options are added in the future, this section will be updated to describe them.

11. Limitation of liability

Spanish Stories is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website.

12. Changes to the website

We may add, change, or remove content, features, or functionality on this website at any time, including the stories, tools, and the collections described above.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the website after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION TO BE CONFIRMED]. This must be finalized before the website launches publicly.
